About

Who Is This?

Hello. I assume by now you know my name is Josh so I will skip that part. I am a web developer that works in Austin, TX at Springbox, an Interactive Agency. Most of my work there is done on the .Net platform and on front-end development for very large companies that I will not start to bore you with now. I occaisionally have the pleasure to be able to do Facebook and MySpace development for clients. I am highly interested in web development for some reason so I try to learn as much of it as possible. You can see a list of what I know below.

In my freetime I like to listen to music, play guitar, write music, go moutain biking, go rock climbing, watch movies and TV, hang out with friends, eat pizza and a bunch of other things I don't feel like typing right now. If you haven't seen my projects feel free to look at them. I know there isn't much but it is just a select list of projects. If you need to send me a message for any reason you can email me at jmkemmerling [at] gmail [dot] com or fill out the contact form.

About the Site

This place, hellojosh.com, is my online playground for exprimental and educational development. Most of what you see here is just me trying something new or different. Because of the use of this site the design, development and content constantly changes.

This site is built with PHP and uses XML to store the information for the work page. The XHTML and CSS are both valid and follow strict web standards. The JavaScript is unobtrusive and is written without using any framework. I am using the 960 grid system for the layout and CSS3 is used in many aspects of the site. I'm not going to tell you were. I'll just let you find them for yourselves.

The site is also very accessible. It follows Section 508 and WCAG standards very well. The site was programmed very clean so that it is optimized for SEO.
